isim kartlarının hazırlanıp süslenmesi ve öğrencilerin kendilerini tanıtmaları)
1. Who
are your teachers? I ask students take out a sheet
of paper and pencil for their first test of the school year. I explain to them
-- in complete seriousness that this will be the hardest test of the entire
year because they have not prepared in class for the test. I have them title
the paper "Teacher." I then ask them questions about myself. I tell
them they received their very first 100 in my class if they answered all of the
questions correctly! At the end of the "test," I give the answers by
showing them pictures. (10 min.)
Questions:
Where
was I born?
How
many brothers/sisters do I have?
Am
I an aunt? If yes, how many nieces or nephews do I have?
How
many countries have I lived in?
What
is my favorite animal?
Do
I still like toys?
What
activities do I like to do?
Am
I in a rock band?
Am
I a creative person?
I
am a vegan. What does that mean?
2. Hand
out name cards which students will then decorate and use over the week as we
get to learn and remember their names. (10 min.)
3. Students
will decorate their classroom doors by adding their names. Students will be
able to reflect upon who they are as students and what they hope to achieve
this coming year. Throughout the year students can review, modify or change
what they wrote. (20 min.)
LESSON 3: Talk about myself, listen and share about you ( öğrencilere basit kişisel soruların
olduğu çalışma kağıtlarını tamamlamaları ve sınıf önünde sunum yapmaları)
1. Students
will be given a worksheet on which they must answer simple questions about
themselves. They must not include their names on this handout.
After they have finished, they will
introduce themselves by sharing what they have written to the class. (15
min.)
2.
Next students are going to have a
snowball fight. Have them crumple the paper into a
snowball and let the snowball fight begin! When
I call stop, each student is to pick up the nearest snowball. They must then
share with the class whose it belongs to. This will give them a chance to
practice their listening skills. (5 min.)
3. Now
students are going to interview their classmates. The questions can either be
elicited by the students themselves or they written on the board for them. They
must then write a short paragraph about their partner that will be put up in
the classroom. This is a fun way to get students interacting in English while
learning more about their classmates. It practices listening, speaking and
writing skills. They also get practice asking and answering questions. (20
min.)
To find their partner, students must
line up alphabetically according to their first name.
